Not only perfect, but extremely rewarding. It's fun killing someone for twenty faction. Big numbers make me smile.

Yeah it was wayyyy too fast I couldn't believe how fast I got to 10k Something in the middle of this and the regular would be more appropriate I think.

Hi all
Just to keep these forums neat and tidy, I'm going to start merging all PvP X feedback threads into this one (unless there's a very significant/pressing reason why it should stay in a separate thread).
Just a heads up! And definitely please share your opinions, hopes, experiences, etc, relating to PvP X and the dev message that Zuggy so kindly showcases here. (And remember to be constructive, please )
Thank you!

(im new but thought id share my opinion)
personally i think this hope for permanent upgraded faction rewards is great!
before it would take quite a while to get to 1,000 and not only would it constrict on the time you COULD be playing on an RP character or doing something else, but you also had to worry about getting a bad team (assuming you did random competition arena's).
I believe that originaly you only got 2 faction. if this could be bumped up to 10 faction per kill, that would be oh so much better. 10 faction per kill, 15 per win, 20 per flawless and 25 for 5 wins.
now assuming the average kill rate is 3 unique kills per game and if you win the game. in PVPX that would bring in 85 faction. if you used the numbers listed above that would give you 45 faction. right now if you kill 3 people and win, you get 16 faction.

PvP Extreme...it dragged me back to the world of Random Arenas. Sadly enough, I didn't PvP until this last night. The good thing is, I got enough Faction to finish off my Warrior runes.
I also had some pretty damn good experiences: 1 team of 2 Warriors, 1 Monk, and some other guys who dropped out. And the team of 3 Warriors and 1 Monk going through a 21-win run was pretty funny. I also saw some pretty messed up builds, like 4 Mo/R's with pets.
All in all, this was the most fun I've had in a long time. Thanks Anet, and make sure those increases are coming!!!

A balance should be struck between the two extremes. The original faction gain was far too slow, and the PVP X weekend event was far too fast (at least for me). I know some people loved it and would liked it to stay at 20 faction a kill + bonuses forever, but that would be insane, IMO.
I literally more than tripled my faction over 2 days and 3 nights. I definitely unlocked more runes than I could have by farming over the same amount of time. If a medium was found between the two ends of the faction gains, it would work for the best.

I say leave it at this, you would still need to pvp a ton to unlock all the skills.

pvpx was insane, GvG was insane faction and I missed out on the gankfest friday, but still got about 30-40k from a fast antigank/newbrolling team. It wasn't even all that special either... three monks and lots of damage. Everyone learned how to beat gank by saturday, you can chase the other team into your guild lord's house if you have a monk back with spell breaker, healing seed, and a couple cover enchantments. Seed owns warrior gank and spell breaker stops most enchant removal as well as fragility and grenth's gank.

I'd like to see something inbetween as well.
1. 8 per kill for gvg and arena. 10 in tombs.
2. Escalating bonus for streaks in arena. Give a bonus equal to the number of wins in a row after each win, and have that be the win reward. 15 more for flawless. Eliminate the priest after 8 minutes in the arena map to discourage griefing.

It was a great weekend realy i didnt PvP much becuase the low faction gain and this brought me to gw 48hrs strait(realy havent done much awake 48hrs strait stuff since Betas) then PvEed some till I passed outtoday then went PvPing again till the weekend ended realy it was great gaid a hecka lot of faction and unlocked more then i new i had to unlock
I think raising the awards for faction would be awsome becuase i agree wat it is now to PvP weekend was a big change wat it is now is to slow and PvP weekend was definatly to fast but hey you find the balance between those two and then PvPing would be more fun to kill ppl
AND THX FOR THE GREAT WEEKEND!!

Faction gain may have been too fast...but only for GvG and Tombs. In Team and Random Arenas, I think the pace is just right.

I agree. Lots of fun this weekend. Most fun I've had in a long time. From what I've heard the faction for Tombs and GvG were pretty high. I liked the numbers in Team Arena personally.

I spent some hours in Arenas and found the rewards there just perfect. I got like 4k faction in three hours or so. I think this could be the basis for the new system. Let me add (and dear Tombs and GvG fans, please don't whack me for that comment), that I think GvG and Tombs rewards should not be THAT much higher than what you get in Team or Competition Arenas. All forms of PvP have their own merit and rewards should be somewhat comparable.
